We’ve noted that one of the Supreme Court’s non-case-related jobs is to appoint five members to the State Bar’s governing board of trustees. (Bus. & Prof. Code, section 6013.1.) The court has adopted a rule to govern that task. The rule includes the establishment by the court of the State Bar Trustees Nominating Committee “to receive applications and screen and evaluate prospective appointees.” The seven-member committee consists of two active or retired judicial officers and five active State Bar members. The court yesterday announced the committee’s members.
