The Judicial Council recently issued its 2012 Court Statistics Report, documenting statewide caseload trends from fiscal year 2001-2002 through fiscal 2010-1011.  As always, it is a treasure trove of information about the California Supreme Court and other aspects of the world’s largest court system.
