We’ve been following Garcia on Admission, which presents the question whether Sergio Garcia, an undocumented immigrant, should be admitted to practice law in California.  This month’s Los Angeles Lawyer magazine includes this article regarding the case, which, interestingly enough, is co-authored by Garcia himself.  The article includes this prediction:  “Depending on how the court decides, this could become a case for the U.S. Supreme Court, given not only that federal preemption and regulation of immigration is a federal consideration but also that a number of states have recently created regulations in a number of areas that contradict federal laws.”
