Malcolm Maclachlan reports in the Daily Journal about Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye’s visit yesterday to her high school alma mater in Sacramento.  Among other things, the Chief is quoted as saying she sometime assigns to herself cases that are “potentially stinkers” so that she, as the Chief, can take the “heat.”  Also, she analogized the Supreme Court to “seven different law firms,” each with its own staff.
