Tomorrow morning, the Supreme Court will file its opinion in Harrod v. Country Oaks Partners.  (Briefs here; oral argument video here.)

In Harrod (renamed late last year to substitute Mark Harrod in place of deceased plaintiff and respondent Charles Logan), the issue is whether an agent operating under an advance health care directive and power of attorney for health care decisions has the authority to enter into an arbitration agreement with a nursing facility on behalf of the principal. The court granted review in November 2022. More about the case here.

Harrod will be the last of two opinions for cases argued on the January calendar. Additional argued but undecided cases are the four from the February calendar (opinions expected by May 6) and the six from the March calendar (opinions expected by June 3).

The Harrod opinion can be viewed tomorrow starting at 10:00 a.m.
