No Supreme Court conference this week and the court is closed Thursday for the Fourth of July

Don’t look for a list this afternoon of matters to be considered at tomorrow’s conference. There won’t be a conference tomorrow.

Even though there are no oral argument sessions in July or August and, for all the other months the court skips conferencing only during those weeks in which it is hearing arguments, the court just doesn’t conference on the first Wednesdays of the summer months. (See the Supreme Court calendar.)

Also, the court will be closed this Thursday, July 4, a state and judicial holiday.

There will be a double conference next week.
