George Takei, who became famous as Mr. Sulu on the TV series “Star Trek,” is pleased at the prospect of Supreme Court Justice Goodwin Liu becoming California’s next Attorney General.

Takei, who is described on his website as “an actor, social justice activist, social media mega-power, [and] New York Times bestselling author,” recently tweeted:  “Excited to see CA Supreme Court Justice Goodwin Liu under consideration by Gov. @GavinNewsom to be appointed CA’s next Attorney General!  So impressed by his record as a champion for equality and racial justice for all.”

Liu’s colleague Justice Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar — a known Trekkie (see here, here, here, and here) — might be jealous.
